Welcome to the Scholar eBooks website.  We are republishing  public domain books in digital format.  All books are available on CD.  On the left of this page, are 'hot links' for the various book categories presently in use.  Clicking on one of these links will take you to the listings and descriptions for the ebooks in that category.  Some books may be listed in more than one category.  We are continually adding to our catalog, so check back for new listings.  You may find it helpful to bookmark this site.

Presently, we are offering two different formats; both require Adobe Reader (Acrobat Reader).  Each CD contains a copy of Adobe Reader (v. 6.0) which can be automatically installed on your computer if need be.  All books are offered in a 'Page Images' format.  An image is made for each page (including all plates, maps, etc.), and all images are collected into a single Acrobat file.

Some of the books have been processed with an OCR (optical character recognition) program and the edited text, along with pictures, maps, etc., was then converted to a single .pdf file which can be read with Adobe Reader.

Each book is identified by a 3-digit code followed by a dash and a single digit.  The single digit signifies the format: 1 is for the Page Images format; 2 is for the Acrobat Text format.  In time, we expect to have other formats available.
